Coffee Time with the IFSO Scheme: Rural Property Insurance Issues

Rural and lifestyle blocks are a popular residential living option for Kiwis which come with their own particular insurance issues and cover.  Rural properties can be controlled and owned by complex family and corporate trusts.   

Claire Benjamin, IFSO Scheme, Legal Counsel, will discuss the legal principles involved in insurance claims, as well as the outcomes and rationale behind a selection of rural property cases.

Claire will discuss common claims and complaints that the IFSO Scheme sees with these types of assets. She will highlight some of the particular issues with this type of insurance and the coverage for rural/lifestyle policies compared to residential.

Attendees will be polled on their opinions, so we are looking for some robust interaction.
